A few dozen people braved the rain to engage in a two day action for refugees on March 28 and 29. Organized by African Communities Together, they marched out of Trinity Church in lower Manhattan carrying inflated rafts to symbolize the means by which refugees often leave Africa. Their target was Trump’s efforts to stop refugees from entering the country and his policy to limit asylum applications.

On Tuesday they marched from the Trump Building at 40 Wall Street to Trinity Church where they vigiled well into the night. On Wednesday they marched from Trinity Church to the federal building, stopping for a rally at the African Burial Ground National Monument.
