Speculative futures: Explorations of the Financial Imagination

This series of short online essays, edited by Aris Komporozos-Athanasiou (UCL) and
Max Haiven (Lakehead University), aims to create an interdisciplinary dialogue about the intersection of finance, financialization and the imagination. It is based on a collaborative walking tour of the storied financial district of the City of London held in April 2018. The lodestone of that tour and this series is work of the late theorist Cornelius Castoriadis whose writing on the power of the radical and institutional imagination, and on questions of autonomy, democracy and capitalism, can inspire a deeper examination of our financialized age with an eye to the possibilities of transformation.
